Homemade BBQ chicken pizza is a delicious twist on traditional pizza night. Tangy barbecue sauce, tender chicken, melted cheese, and a crispy crust come together for a sweet and savory combination that’s hard to resist. It’s an easy, crowd-pleasing meal that feels a little special but is simple enough for any weeknight.

Ingredients

  • Pizza crust – Quick Baking Powder Pizza Crust, Sourdough Pizza Crust, Sourdough discard pizza dough
  • BBQ sauce
  • Olive oil
  • Salt
  • Rotisserie chicken, shredded or chopped
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Mozzarella cheese, block
  • Jalapeno slices, optional

How to make BBQ Chicken Pizza

Make a pizza crust. I used to do a quick baking powder pizza crust before I started doing sourdough. I like to do a sourdough discard pizza dough because I can do it ahead of time and it’s super simple. You can either use up a lot of discard you already have on hand or over feed your stater on purpose the morning of.

When you are ready to bake your pizza, preheat the oven to 500 degrees with a pizza stone inside the oven.

While the oven and pizza stone preheat, shred the cheese and gather your ingredients.

Once the pizza stone is preheated, remove it from the oven and drizzle on some olive oil. Place your pizza crust or spread your sourdough discard out on the hot pizza pan. Drizzle with olive oil again.

Dollap 2-3 tablespoons of bbq sauce on the dough and spread it around evenly with the back of a spoon.

Season the crust generously with salt, garlic powder, and onion powder.

Cover the dough generously with the shredded cheese and place the chicken and jalapeño slices on top.

Bake for 15 minutes or until the cheese starts to brown.

Cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Save it for later..
