Come and explore the beauty of virtue with me through these philosophical quotes and thought-provoking words of wisdom!

Virtues are character traits like compassion, patience, and love- all the things we as moms, wives, and homemakers aspire to be. Virtue in and of itself is the practice of these things. It is the discipline of doing the hard things like choosing right responses over and over again that causes us over time to become virtuous.

Virtue also has this idea of practicing hard things other than character traits until they become second nature. That is how we flourish. When we master the daily tasks that overwhelm us, we are less stressed and feel more productive. It allows us to take that extra energy and time that we were spending on those things and include other things like reading, crocheting, or any other enjoyable pastimes without feeling guilty or regret.

The pursuit of virtue was really prompted by the wise man and ancient Greek philosopher, Aristotle. Since then, it has been sought and spoken of by renown men in history like George Washington, Thomas Paine, Edmund Burke, and Winston Churchill. They were men of personal integrity and great virtues.

Can you imagine bringing up children like them? Just think what kind of homes they grew up in and all the influence of their mothers had on their lives…

We need all the encouragement we can get in this high calling of homemaking so I compiled some virtue quotes to inspire us to keep doing the hard things even when we don’t feel like it.

Come and explore the beauty of virtue with me through these thought provoking words of wisdom!

Strive to attain to the greater virtues, but do not neglect the lesser ones. Tom Perry

Final Thoughts!

I hope, these inspirational quotes have encouraged you to find the best way to create a virtuous home for your family. As human beings, I know, we are drawn to virtue. As homemakers, we seek to build a good life for our family by creating a flourishing home, a virtuous home. Deep down inside, we don’t want the mere appearance or a little virtue in our home. A heart desires true virtue full and blooming like a flower with its sweet scent filling our life and home. I think, we all aspire to craft a beautiful place full of goodness where the greatest virtue(love) abounds. We want all the goodness of the world for our home.

Will you join me in seeking our own virtue so that we can build virtuous homes in spite of it all? Will you strive to live up to your full potential as a wife, mom, and homemaker? Will you search after these good things, these great things and good deeds called virtue?

Will you come and seek this beautiful road towards virtuous character with me?

Great compilation of quotes! Thanks for posting them. They should be put up all over town to remind people to be good. What a better world this would be. My favorite was from L.Tom Perry. He was a very good speaker in my church and a great guy.

This was very inspiring to read over. Virtue is a word hardly heard in our culture these days. It sounds like a breath of fresh air. I like to think of the virtuous women in Prov 31. Thank you for sharing!
