Sourdough cookie bars are a delicious way to use your starter while enjoying a sweet treat. Soft, chewy, and packed with flavor, they’re easy to make and perfect for cutting into squares for snacking or sharing. These bars combine the rich taste of cookies with a subtle tang from sourdough for a homemade dessert everyone will love.

Ingredients
- 1/2c soft butter or olive oil
- 1c sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/3c – 100g sourdough starter
- 1t vanilla
- 1 1/2c – 190g flour
- 1/8t salt
- 1c chocolate chips
How to make Sourdough Cookie Bars
Add all the ingredients to a large mixing bowl and mix throughly.
Cover and ferment at room temperature for 6-8 hours.
When you are ready to bake, preheat the oven to 400.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and scoop the cookie dough on to the sheet placing the balls close together. The dough will spread and run together as it bakes.
Bake for 12 minutes.
Cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.
